       The Yakima School of Medical Technology was founded in 1971 by the Yakima Pathologist 

     group. In 1974,  the program became affiliated with Central Washington University with clinical 

     training continuing to be provided in Yakima. In September of 2002 the program became a 

     hospital based program co-sponsored by Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and Yakima

     Regional Medical Center.  In 2006, the program became affiliated with Heritage University.

    We are very proud of our graduates (over 250) who consistently score above the 

    national average on the National Certification Examinations. Nearly all of our graduates obtain 

    employment shortly after completing the program and the majority are employed in Central 

    Washington.
