FACILITIES
During the 52 week program, students obtain laboratory experience and attend lectures at two Yakima hospitals. Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital has approximately 223 beds and Yakima Regional Medical & Cardiac center has approximately 80 beds. Both state-of-the-art, CAP approved laboratories have a combined workload of more than 2.5 million tests per year. Although the laboratories have sophisticated instrumentation, students are taught both manual and automated methods. Current books, computer assisted learning, audio visual materials, slide collections, stock cultures, and frozen serum samples are available for teaching. Both facilities have double headed microscopes to aid in the teaching and learning process.
